Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul to begin on March 27

The 11th season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul, Turkey’s most prominent international fashion event, will take place between March 27-30 at Zorlu Performance Arts Center (PSM) in Zorlu Center. The event will feature a program filled with fashion shows and presentations of brands’ and designers’ Fall/Winter 2018 collections, once again offering the guests an exciting fashion week experience with the unparalleled technical infrastructure of Zorlu PSM. 

Each season Mercedes-Benz hosts its VIP guests at an exclusive lounge area and this season Mercedes-Benz Lounge will be located inside Zorlu PSM again. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Transfer Vehicles, which have become a signature and icon of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul, will be on the roads again to transfer guests to the venue throughout the week. 

In the Fall/Winter 2018 edition, Mercedes-Benz presents a collection book honoring the past ten seasons. With the book titled “Story of 10 Seasons”, featuring unforgettable moments from the past ten seasons accompanied by creative photographs of the participating designers’ runway shows and presentations, Mercedes-Benz welcomes the 11th season in magnificent style.

 

This season, Mercedes-Benz will showcase the new CLS, the third generation of the original, in the MBFWI venue at Zorlu PSM. The new CLS pioneers the new design idiom of Mercedes-Benz, combining the elegance and dynamism of a coupé with the comfort and functionality of a saloon and offering a highly emotive vehicle with a sporty and dynamic character.

As the most prestigious fashion event in Turkey’s international fashion calendar, MBFWI supports Turkish designers and the talents of fashion industry in Turkey and the international arena. In this edition, we are presenting “Story of 10 seasons”, a collection book featuring some of the most memorable moments of the past ten seasons along with images from the runway shows and presentations of the brands and designers we have supported as a very special gift for the Turkish fashion industry. Furthermore, Georgian fashion brand Atelier Kikala will be on the MBFWI runway with the show “Mercedes-Benz presents Atelier Kikala” as part of Mercedes-Benz’s fashion exchange program. Offering an integrated platform that provides promotion and communication, as well as sales opportunities for brands and designers, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul emphasizes its commitment to transforming Istanbul into a fashion and design center.”

 

#mbcollective campaigns and #WeWonder 

Mercedes-Benz has been presenting fashion campaigns each season in line with the international fashion weeks it sponsors, with the likes of Karlie Kloss, Georgia May Jagger, Tilda Swinton, Dree Hemingway, Doutzen Kroes and Natasha Poly as stars. In 2017, Mercedes-Benz launched the three-chapter #mbcollective Fashion Story– a group of influencers, trendsetters and designers – to amplify its global fashion engagement and presented the Generation Now talents of M.I.A., Susan Sarandon and Amber Valetta mentoring the Generation Next of Tommy Genesis, Bryn Mooser and Auden McCaw respectively. 

Mercedes-Benz launches the next stage of its #mbcollective fashion story, entitled #WeWonder, a manifesto, which brings together seven of the world’s most innovative and inspiring visionaries to dream about the potentiality of the future. A future in which Mercedes-Benz is pursuing a holistic approach as part of the EQ brand family, which includes the Mercedes-Benz Concept EQ, the generation electric automobile. This #mbcollective – featuring designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, artistic director Hans Ulrich Obrist, Hypebeast founder Kevin Ma, writer, curator and social activist Kimberly Drew, fashion model Slick Woods and musician Solange Knowles – marks the next step in Mercedes-Benz’s global fashion engagement.
