Successful end to the Mercedes-Benz fundraising campaign “Recharge”

Stuttgart/Berlin.  Germany’s best-known media prize, the BAMBI, has been awarded at Berlin’s Theater at Potsdamer Platz for the 70th time. Among the VIP guests who stepped onto the red carpet as they arrived at this anniversary event in Mercedes-Benz saloons, and also for the first time in the all-electric EQC, were among others Liselotte Pulver, Sophia Loren, Penelope Cruz, Liv Tyler, Dua Lipa, Take That, Felix Jaehn, Mark Foster, Mike Singer, Lena Gercke as well as Nico Rosberg. The musical highlights of the evening were the appearances by Grammy winner Alessia Cara and Udo Lindenberg, who performed with an orchestra and a children’s choir.

This year’s involvement by Mercedes-Benz in the exclusive society event was themed around the electric mobility brand EQ and the “Recharge” campaign. The “Recharge” fundraising campaign initiated by Mercedes-Benz in support of the TRIBUTE TO BAMBI Foundation came to an end at the BAMBI awards ceremony with a donation of over 115,000 euros. Since mid-October members of the public have participated in the campaign on Facebook to help disadvantaged children and young people in Germany with their donations.

In the run-up to the BAMBI awards Mercedes-Benz once again supported the TRIBUTE TO BAMBI charity event in aid of children and young people in need in Germany with a special edition of the Bobby-Benz limited to 500 units as part of its “Recharge” fundraiser. All of the sales proceeds will go to the TRIBUTE TO BAMBI Foundation.


This year Mercedes-Benz also provided support in the form of an interactive donation campaign on Facebook. Famous supporters including the Mercedes-Benz Brand Ambassadors Palina Rojinski, Franziska Knuppe and Die Lochis backed the campaign and called for the users to donate, drawing attention to the social issues which receive too little attention in society and which the TRIBUTE TO BAMBI Foundation is committed to.

The fundraising campaign, which attracted attention when it was launched at the TRIBUTE TO BAMBI Charity Night, came to an end on the red carpet at the 2018 BAMBI awards.


Mercedes-Benz has been an exclusive Presenting Partner at the BAMBI awards since 2000. A fleet of S-Class, S-Class Maybach and V-Class vehicles ensured that the BAMBI guests arrived d in comfort. Special highlights included the all-electric EQC and a white Mercedes-Maybach S650.
