For Michelin, the FIA Formula E Championship serves as a full-scale laboratory that fosters innovation and provides valuable data its work in favour of sustainable mobility. The sixth season of the all-electric racing series kicked off last Friday (November 22) in Saudi Arabia where Michelin introduced motorsport’s first connected tyre which features an embedded sensor.

A founding partner of the competition, Michelin uses its involvement in Formula E to enhance the safety of its tyres, incubate new, increasingly sustainable materials, promote the expansion of electric mobility and accelerate the development of connected solutions.

Thanks to Michelin Track Connect, a new connected system that is the first of its kind to be used in a motorsport championship sanctioned by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile), Michelin has every intention of accelerating its data acquisition and analysis expertise in order to stay at the cutting edge of technology and address market and customer demand even more effectively.
